The 2018 Congress was held in Valencia from 22 to 26 May 2018. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain and the capital of the Valencian Community, but also the third largest economic centre in Spain; it is a city that surprisingly combines the past and the modern. It is of course known for its futuristic City of Arts and Sciences by Calatrava, but also for its historical centre rich in monuments and museums as well as many remarkable Art Nouveau (including the famous Central Market) and Art Deco buildings.
Valencia is the capital of paella, but also of other rice-based dishes and fideuá (similar to paella but made with small vermicelli-type pasta). It is also the city of the Aigua de Valencia, a typical cocktail of the city.
During the congress, we organized a conference-debate with 3 high-level speakers: J.M. Gil Robles (former President of the EP and former President of the European Movement Spain), E. Nasarre (President of the European Movement Spain) and E. Morera (President of the Valencian Parliament). Their interventions were followed by a lively discussion with the participants.
